Autumn by Glazunov

Autumn is my favorite season of the year. I love that streets are festooned with beautiful amber foliage and that life slowly winds down as we reflect and give thanks for another blessed and fruitful year. I am truly grateful for farmers who have been sweating the pains of labor toiling under the hot summer sun so that we may benefit from their faithfulness. Likewise, no matter how big or small, we, too, have accomplished things by this time of year. Whether it was to shed those five extra pounds, reconnect with an old friend, start a blog, say one more “I love you” to your spouse, cope with an illness, or choose to forgive someone, we have taken steps to achieve a better self, which ultimately heals our world. No step was easy. It is now time to celebrate the harvest of hard work.

Here is Alexander Glazunov’s beautiful celebration of Autumn from his ballet, The Seasons. Do you hear the cool breeze dancing with the leaves, birds planning their migration, and the warm sun caressing each and every one of us? May this Autumn be a time of thanksgiving for the meaningful people and the stunning world around you.
